Location & Transportation
Maastricht is easily accessible and wonderfully walkable. The historic city center sits along the River Maas, making it a scenic destination for river cruise passengers. I’ve experienced how simple it is to get around by foot, or you can opt for a local bus or taxi if you’re looking to cover a bit more ground. If you plan to stay a while, there are plenty of charming hotels and guesthouses right in the heart of the city. For those arriving by air, Maastricht Aachen Airport is conveniently located about 10 kilometers from the center.
