Location & Transportation
Celebration Key is the first private destination designed exclusively for Carnival Cruise Line guests, located on Grand Bahama. Slated to open in July 2025, its modern pier can simultaneously accommodate two of Carnival’s vast Excel-class ships and is expected to welcome around 2 million passengers annually.
When you arrive, you'll enter through the Welcome Portal where live music sets a festive tone and a striking sandcastle-like structure makes a memorable first impression. From there, three unique themed portals await:
- Family-Friendly Portal: Enjoy easy beach access to a lagoon pool, splash pad, racing waterslides winding around the sandcastle structure, sports courts, and a relaxed beach area with loungers. There are also several dining options and an assortment of cabanas including beach, floating, and villa-style with personal slide access.
- Adult-Friendly Portal: A high-energy area featuring a DJ, a swim-up bar, and a white-sand beach perfect for cooling off in the crystal-clear Bahamian waters. Enjoy a mix of cabanas and diverse dining venues offering both international and Bahamian-inspired dishes.
- Private Club Portal: For guests seeking a premium and elevated experience, this adults-only area offers an infinity pool with ocean views, secluded beach access, and refined dining settings.
Transportation around the island is straightforward. Carnival typically provides shuttle services, while taxis are available should you decide to explore further afield.

Options in Freeport or around Port Lucaya offer comfortable resorts and hotels, giving you a chance to enjoy more of the island’s offerings if time permits.
Culture & Local Events
Celebration Key is not just about the beach and activities – it’s a celebration of Bahamian culture. Here’s what makes it special:
- Local Flair: The Retail Portal features murals painted by Bahamian artists and spaces that highlight local craftsmanship.
- Currency & Communication: The local currency is the Bahamian Dollar (BSD), though many places also accept US dollars. English is the language spoken, making communication a breeze.
